“Blythe”

Starting at just 9 years old with a copy of FL Studio, music producer and creative entrepreneur Tay “Blythe” has been blending genres and pushing sonic limits ever since. What began as playful experimentation has evolved into a minimalistic yet layered sound, often pulling textures from unexpected places—like a San Diego trolley recording tucked under a Baile Funk groove. Drawing inspiration from artists like Emika, Ludwig Göransson, and early ATL trap legends, Tay “Blythe” continuously asks: “What would this sound like in my world?”—keeping her work fresh and authentic.

Her desire to build real community led to the launch of CreativeLinkUp, a growing event series that connects independent artists across mediums. After a successful 2023 debut in San Diego, plans are underway to expand to Los Angeles and Atlanta, featuring vendor booths, brand sponsorships, and workshops. The goal: to create an ecosystem where talent gets opportunities without needing to fight through traditional gatekeepers.

Independent Art & Music

Balancing roles as the founder of PLEASEDONOTTOUCHARTWORK LLC, a music producer, and a creative director requires sharp organization. Mornings are reserved for business operations, afternoons for planning, and late nights for deep creative work. Delegating tasks and staying aligned with her “why”—creating immersive art experiences—keeps everything on course.

Her advice for women entering music and creative entrepreneurship is clear: “Get comfortable being the only woman in the room—then make the room yours.” By mastering technical skills, building strong networks, and treating their brand like a business, women can carve out their own spaces. In an industry slow to evolve, her message is simple: create your own table and invite the right people to it.
